We’re the accomodation partner for the Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts in Swindon. Should you be successful in getting a place, we hope to welcome you in the new academic year.
We’re more than just a regular landlord for students of the Wilkes Academy. Often, this is the first-time students live away from home. With our team, we keep an eye on your welfare, take an interest in your progress and do our best to help you through this period of transition.
Swindon is an exciting and thriving town with plenty of things to do, day and night. It has grown quickly over the past few years, earning itself a reputation as a leading town for business, sport and leisure, the arts and shopping. There really is something for everyone: it boasts an eclectic mix of independent shops, pubs and clubs and stylish cafés and bars (and yes, even a Nando’s!).
Most of our accommodation is a short distance from the train station, meaning you’ll be around a 45 minute journey from Bristol, Bath and Reading and just over an hour away from London.
We have staff on call 24 hours a day for emergencies, and staff members on hand 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
Wilkes Academy give us their final intake list around May / June, we then contact everyone on that list via email giving you details of how and when to register for accommodation with us. In your first year, you’ll be at The Bell Hotel, our flagship property in the heart of Old Town. We have a mixture of single and shared rooms and all the facilities you need to live independently while you train and make new friends.
After forming friendship groups with others in your year, we place you out into our houses, we try where we can to keep you in your friendship groups. Our houses are mostly 3 and 4 bed houses owned by private landlords, all of which are in and around Swindon. None more than a 20 minute drive from Wilkes Academy.
Chris James Accommodation has been our housing partner since 2012 and during this time, they’ve looked after our students’ accommodation needs efficiently and demonstrated an exemplary level of care. They often go above and beyond to help our students adapt to living away from home, whether that’s checking in on someone who isn’t feeling well or helping them organise the finances to support their accommodation fees. We’d happily recommend Chris James Accommodation and I look forward to continuing our partnership with them.
